Stephanie Venier has her parents to thank for making her the skier she is. Her mother is a housewife, her father is a beer driver, he drives a snow groomer as a sideline and in his spare time he works in the family ski cellar. Vacations are out of the question because every penny goes towards her daughter’s sporting career. The commitment pays off: in 2013, Stephanie Venier wins the gold medal in the Super-G at the Junior World Ski Championships. A good ten years later, the Tyrolean is still one of the best in the world. The decisive factor is “the feel-good factor” – if she is doing well, the environment is right, everyone is happy and the sun is shining from the sky, then Stephanie Venier is the fastest. However, the speed skier should not be underestimated even when the conditions are unfavorable: Stephanie Venier is known as a “wuide Henn” who is not afraid to take big risks. It is no coincidence that the 2023/24 season was the most successful of her career to date. And this will continue in the year of the home World Championships.
