Marco Odermatt

His greatest strength among many is the joy of skiing – it regularly brings a smile to his face. Especially when things are going well, and Marco Odermatt often does. The Swiss is the serial winner of recent winters. He is in a league of his own in his showpiece discipline of giant slalom. Ever since his victory in the Lauberhorn downhill in Wengen, the downhill community has known that “Odi” is now also a force to be reckoned with on the world’s fast and difficult courses. Behind his successes are years of well thought-out, consistent development work, based on a trusting relationship between family, friends and coaches. Thanks to his athleticism, his experience and his feel for the snow, Marco Odermatt succeeds in almost perfect downhill races – each one a spectacle of courage, self-confidence, brilliant skiing technique and body control. If he is spared any major injuries, Marco Odermatt will become THE skier of his generation.
