Matthias Schober-Steiner

Production coordination

Since January 2023, I have been working on the current Downhillskiers “ain’t no mountain steep enough” project in production coordination, where I look after the athlete protagonists, coaches, managers, associations, sponsors and suppliers. In this role, I can contribute my personal strengths, one of which is communication.

With all my experience, intelligent project management does not mean that I have to be able to do everything and offer everything. My company IQ stands for the organization of the best possible configuration of experts. It is my job and my expertise to manage these units, and the connections between federations, training centers, outfitters, sponsors, the public and top athletes are a sensitive mobile. My passion is to help ensure that this network is and remains well-balanced and profitable for everyone. Immediately after founding my company IQ-Sportsmanagement in 2015, I was able to implement the knowledge gained from my previous work for the two film documentaries “The Hunters of the Hundredth of a Second Part 1 and Part 2”, while at the same time successfully carrying out a large number of projects in electrical planning. I then focused on the current Vitatec-Vitalfeld project. I carry out these applications in the physiotherapy, osteopathy and training practice founded by my wife Stefanie, and I was able to gain a lot of experience during my time working for the ski company Atomic. Initially in purchasing and production planning, then later in sports marketing for alpine ski racing. I was responsible for negotiations for all Atomic athletes, organization and implementation of PR appointments and events, photo shoots, budget responsibility, as well as communication throughout the Ski World Cup with associations, coaches, ski pools and managers.

Seppi Dabringer

born and raised in Carinthia, Austria, was infected with photography by his father who let him use his Olympus camera by the age of ten. Taking pictures became his passion, but it took him until the age of 24 before he decided to go professional.

In 1997 his friend Gerald Salmina invited him into the filming business,
and a great collaboration started that has been lasting until today.
After working for Planet Watch for 4 years, traveling the world for countless sport events
and film productions, Seppi decided to found his own company.
From 2001 – 2007 his main goal was to produce freeride films in Cordova, AK,
which was his dream come true.
A documentary film shoot in Angola in the spring of 2007 changed his viewpoints,
and he decided to work more locally, doing industrial and tourism films, documentaries and feature film.
But he could never let go of doing productions related to sport.
His personal highlights are

STREIF – ONE HELL OF A RIDE,
BJORN – BORN TO WINDSURF
and now DOWNHILL SKIERS – AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN STEEP ENOUGH,

again in collaboration with his long time friend Gerald Salmina and Blue Bird Motion Picture.

Hi, I’m Michael, 35 years young and a freelance audio engineer. After my studies at the Montanuniversität Leoben, I decided to change my career and completed an audio training course at the SAE in Vienna. This gave me the opportunity to combine my greatest passions in the fields of sport, nature, technology and “sound”.

In the meantime, I have had the opportunity to work on a large number of productions for cinema, film and TV, both on set and in the studio. I am currently working with wonderful colleagues on the cinema documentary “Downhill Skiers – Ain’t no Mountain Steep Enoough” as a sound master and am very excited to see what other interesting projects the future will bring.

Matthias Hell

My start in the film industry was associated with a lot of luck. At the right time, with the right commitment, in the right place. In the beginning I helped out in various departments until a cameraman noticed my interest. With its help, I looked for a way to move forward.

I was able to complete an internship as a DIT for a movie in Munich. From 2015, I then worked in the camera department for ingest at SokoKitz. After that, I was able to take on the position of 2nd AC and had the opportunity to work with some DOPs. After a while, DOPs also got involved with me as 1st AC. Since then I have been working as 1st AC, Cam Operator and Drone Operator and am now self-employed.

I am Patrick Wegerer, born on March 30, 1986 in Marburg near Frankfurt am Main in Germany. I developed a deep interest in film technology as a child, with skateboard sports videos playing an important role in my life from an early age. In 2007, I moved to Innsbruck to deepen my passion for film production.

My professional career began in 2008 at the film production company “brennweit medienproduktion” in Innsbruck, before I ventured into self-employment in 2010. My main areas of expertise are camera and editing as well as DIT (Digital Imaging Technician), through which I have made a name for myself in the industry.

I am not only active in the world of film, but also a passionate mountaineer. My enthusiasm for the sport is reflected in my work. At the beginning of my career, I produced snowboard films with SANE Snowboarding and gained experience in the cycling industry, for example at the Tour of Austria and various events such as the M3 bike marathon in Montafon. My previous camera and editing projects include various image films in industry and the hotel sector. I have also been involved in crime thriller productions such as “Trost und Rath” for Servus TV and various “Landkrimi” series for ORF and worked as a DIT.

The last major cinema productions I worked on include “Klammer – Chasing the Line” with Julian Waldner, “Bibi Blocksberg” with Nala Langenbach and Heike Makatsch and “Very Best Ager” with Iris Berben and Heiner Lauterbach.

My current project “Downhill Skiers” combines my passions for mountain sports and film technology. Through this project, which combines sport and emotion, I have the opportunity to experience and accompany athletes up close. With my creative vision and passion for film and sport, I have established myself as a versatile and inspiring media professional.

Direction

Gerald Salmina

Working as a producer and director was not foreseeable for Gerald Salmina when he was a professional windsurfer from 1989 to 1994. The magical light of his mountainous homeland and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean inspired Gerald to become a cameraman. Motivated by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, he became a specialist for worldwide mountain and ski productions. In the process, he not only learned how to film, but also how to direct, produce and tell stories. His aim is to produce authentic stories about inspiring people in breathtaking and sometimes very exposed locations, using the larger-than-life film backdrop of Mother Nature.

Creativity – that is the essence of my life – whether in the musical or artistic field.

The basis for this was my A-levels in art and media at CHS Villach, which also awakened my passion for filmmaking. My professional positions in film companies, where I was able to gain valuable experience, enabled me to learn every day.
In 2021, I took the plunge into self-employment and have been working as a freelance editor and cameraman ever since.
I have already been able to realize a variety of exciting projects – from social media clips to music videos and TV productions to cinema productions. This versatility allows me to live out my creativity and tell stories in different ways. I love being able to work on a wide variety of projects.

Gilles Roulin

My name is Gilles Roulin and I was a member of the Swiss Ski World Cup team for seven years. My greatest successes were my participation in the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and my participation in the 2019 World Championships in Aare and 2023 in Courchevel. At World Cup level, my best result was 4th place in the downhill in Val Gardena/Gröden. I ended my active career this spring. I’ve been working in a law firm since May and am preparing for the bar exam.
