Blue Bird Motion Picture GmbH and Ascot Elite Entertainment are producing an elaborate sports documentary project that will be made into a film and a four-part series. Genre specialist and director Gerald Salmina, who reached a large audience with “Streif – One Hell of a Ride”, is directing and producing “Downhill Skiers – Ain’t No Mountain Steep Enough” with his proven team. The film about a season of downhill skiing and the World Championships in Saalbach 2025 is being produced in collaboration with the Austrian Film Institute, Red Bull Media House, Amazon, ORF, Servus TV and CH. Salmina, who reached a large audience with “Streif – One Hell of a Ride“, began filming at the World Cup Final in Saalbach in March 2024 and wants to create another exciting and emotional experience about downhill skiing. “Downhill Skiers – Ain’t no Mountain Steep Enough” is a film that wants to find out and experience what exactly drives these athletes and how the best manage to constantly push boundaries,” says Salmina, “We are delighted to be working with Gerald Salmina and his team. Of course, it is a highlight that we are able to provide the sporting focal point of this documentary with Marco Odermatt, currently the hottest athlete, but we are also looking forward to the other athletes such as Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, Cyprien Sarrazin, Conny Hütter and Sofia Goggia, as well as other actors such as Jasmine Flury, Nina Ortlieb, Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, Justin Murisier, Marco Schwarz and many more,” says the Swiss producer responsible.”, says the responsible Swiss producer Roger Kaufmann from Ascot – Elite Film: filming will continue until the World Championships in Saalbach Hinterglemm in February 2025. The Austrian Film Institute and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture are supporting the project.
